Album ini menandai perubahan gaya musik yang dimainkan GN'R. Mereka memasukkan pengaruh musik blues, klasik, dan country. Misalnya, Axl Rose bermain piano dalam beberapa lagu.

Album "Use Your Illusion" merupakan titik balik gema band Guns N' Roses.
