Vernor Vinge
Vernor Steffen Vinge (/ˈvɜːrnər ˈvɪndʒiː/ ⓘ; 2 Oktober 1944 – 20 Maret 2024) adalah seorang penulis fiksi ilmiah dan profesor Amerika Serikat. Dia mengajar matematika dan ilmu komputer di San Diego State University. Dia adalah orang pertama yang mempopulerkan konsep singularitas teknologi dan di antara penulis pertama yang menyajikan "dunia maya" fiksi.[2] Ia memenangkan Hugo Award untuk novelnya A Fire Upon the Deep (1992), A Deepness in the Sky (1999), dan Rainbows End (2006), dan novella Fast Times at Fairmont High (2002) dan The Cookie Monster (2004).
