Studi perdamaian dan konflik

Studi perdamaian dan konflik adalah bidang ilmu sosial yang mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis perilaku kekerasan dan nonkekerasan serta mekanisme struktural dalam konflik (termasuk konflik sosial) untuk memahami proses-proses yang memungkinkan keadaan manusia yang lebih baik.[1] Salah satu variasinya, studi perdamaian (irenologi), adalah upaya interdisipliner untuk mencari pencegahan, deeskalasi, dan solusi konflik secara damai, dan "memenangkan" semua pihak yang terlibat konflik. Ini berbeda dengan studi perang (polemologi) yang bertujuan memenangkan konflik secara cepat, biasanya dengan cara-cara kekerasan untuk memuaskan keinginan satu pihak terlibat atau lebih.

Disiplin yang terangkum dalam studi ini adalah ilmu politik, geografi, ekonomi, psikologi, sosiologi, hubungan internasional, sejarah, antropologi, studi agama, studi gender, dan lain-lain.
