Penahbisan wanita
Penahbisan wanita pada jabatan imam atau pendeta adalah sebuah praktik yang makin umum pada beberapa kelompok agama besar pada masa sekarang, seperti halnya beberapa agama pagan kuno sebelum juga dilakukan oleh agama-agama Yudeo-Kristen.
Ini masih menjadi masalah kontroversial dalam gereja-gereja Kristen tertentu dimana "penahbisan" (proses dimana seseorang ditahbiskan dan disatukan oleh Allah pada pelayanan berbagai ritus keagamaan) selama hampir 2000 tahun hanya dibatasi untuk pria.
Dalam beberapa kasus, wanita diijinkan untuk ditahbiskan, tetapi tidak memegang jabatan yang terlalu tinggi, seperti (sampai Juli 2014) jabatan uskup dalam Gereja Inggris.[2] Meskipun hukum-hukum melarang diskriminasi jenis kelamin dalam pekerjaan, pengecualian dibuat untuk rohaniwan (contohnya di Amerika Serikat)
