Myloplus
genus ikan
Myloplus adalah genus ikan air tawar dalam keluarga Serrasalmidae yang ditemukan di daerah tropis dan subtropis Amerika Selatan, tempat mereka menghuni sungai dan aliran sungai berarus lambat dan deras. Mereka pada dasarnya adalah herbivora, tetapi juga memakan beberapa bahan hewani.[1] Tergantung pada spesies pastinya, panjang standarnya mencapai 16–56 cm (0,5–1,8 kaki).[2] Jantan dewasa memiliki sirip dubur berlobus ganda dan ekstensi berserabut pada sirip punggung, dan kedua jenis kelamin (terutama jantan) dapat berwarna cerah saat berkembang biak.[1]
