Lockwood de Forest
Lockwood de Forest (8 Juni 1850 – 3 April 1932) adalah seorang pelukis Amerika, desainer interior dan desainer furnitur. Seorang tokoh kunci dalam Gerakan Estetika, ia memperkenalkan kebangkitan kerajinan India Timur ke Gilded Age Amerika.[1]

Sebagai seorang pemuda, de Forest pertama kali bekerja sebagai pelukis, mengambil pelajaran dari Sekolah Sungai Hudson sezamannya. Pada tahun 1879, de Forest memulai karirnya di seni dekoratif bekerja di Artis Associated bersama dengan Louis Comfort Tiffany, sebelum memulai bisnis dekorasi sendiri yang ia jalankan selama tiga puluh tahun. Setelah pensiun, de Forest pindah ke Santa Barbara di mana ia kembali ke kecintaannya pada lukisan sambil tetap menerima komisi desain dari pelanggan lokal.
