Laura Elizabeth "Laurie" Metcalf[1] (lahir 16 Juni 1955) merupakan seorang aktris Amerika Serikat. Ia memulai kariernya di Steppenwolf Theater Company dan sering berakting di teater di Chicago, termasuk drama tahun 1983 berjudul Balm in Gilead. Ia berperan sebagai aktris dalam film Desperately Seeking Susan (1985), Uncle Buck (1989), Internal Affairs (1990), Pacific Heights (1990), JFK (1991), A Dangerous Woman (1993), Leaving Las Vegas (1995), Dear God (1996), Scream 2 (1997) dan Meet the Robinsons (2007). Ia berperan sebagai pengisi suara tokoh Mrs. Davis dalam serial film Toy Story. Pada tahun 2017, ia berperan sebagai Marion McPherson dalam film drama komedi Lady Bird karya Greta Gerwig.

Latar belakang
suntingLaurie Metcalf lahir di Carbondale, Illinois. Ia merupakan putri sulung dari tiga bersaudara, bersama adiknya James dan Linda,[2] dan dibesarkan di Edwardsville, Illinois.[3] Ayahnya, James, merupakan seorang sutradara Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville ketika ia meninggal mendadak pada tahun 1984, dan ibunya, Libby, merupakan seorang pustakawan.[4][5] Bibi buyutnya merupakan dramawan dan penerima penghargaan Pulitzer Zoë Akins.[6] Ia merupakan alumni Illinois State University angkatan 1976.[7]
