Isaac Babel
Isaac Emmanuilovich Babel (bahasa Rusia: Исаак Эммануилович Бабель; IPA: [ˈbabʲɪlʲ]; 13 Juli 1894 – 27 Januari 1940) adalah seorang penulis, jurnalis, dramawan, dan penerjemah sastra berkebangsaan Rusia. Ia paling dikenal sebagai penulis dari karya berjudul Kavaleri Merah dan Cerita dari Odessa, dan telah diakui sebagai "penulis prosa terbesar Yahudi-Rusia."[1] Babel ditangkap oleh NKVD pada 15 Mei 1939 atas tuduhan palsu terorisme dan spionase, dan dieksekusi pada 27 Januari 1940.
