Cherry Jones
Cherry Jones (lahir 21 November 1956) adalah aktris berkebangsaan Amerika Serikat. Namanya dikenal secara luas ketika dia dinominasikan sebanyak lima kali menerima penghargaan Tony Award untuk penampilannya di Teater Broadway, dan memenangi penghargaan itu dalam kategori Aktris Terbaik melalui pertunjukan drama tahun 1995 berjudul The Heiress dan tahun 2005 dalam judul Doubt. Tahun 2009 dia memenangi penghargaan Primetime Emmy Award untuk kategori Aktris Pendukung Terpuji melalui perannya sebagai Allison Taylor dalam seral drama yang ditayangkan kanal FOX berjudul 24. Dia juga memenangi tiga penghargaan Drama Desk Awards.

Jones mengawali debutnya di Broadway pada tahun 1987 melalui pertunjukan Stepping Out. Pertunjukan lain yang mencat namanya adalah Pride's Crossing (1997–98) dan The Glass Menagerie (2013–14). Penampilannya di kancah perfilman di antaranya The Horse Whisperer (1998), Erin Brockovich (2000), The Village (2004), Amelia (2009) dan The Beaver (2011). Tahun 2012, dia memerankan sebagai Dr. Judith Evans dalam drama NBC berjudul Awake.
Latar belakang
suntingJones lahir di Paris, Tennessee, puteri seorang guru sekolah menengah atas dan pemilik toko bunga.[1] Dia merupakan lulusan tahun 1978 dari Carnegie Mellon School of Drama. Semasa di CMU, dia sudah mulai menekuni keaktrisan dan bekerja di City Theatre.[2]
Jones dikenal namanya ketika berperan sebagai Presiden Amerika Serikat Allison Taylor dalam serial drama Fox berjudul24, di mana melalui perannya itu, dia memenangi penghargaan dari Emmy Award. Namun, kebanyakan kariernya dihabiskan di Teater Broadway, termasuk memenangi Tony Award dengan perannya dalam produksi Lincoln Center tahun 1995 berjudul The Heiress dan pertunjukan drama arahan John Patrick Shanley berjudul Doubt, peran yang mengantarkannya memenangi penghargaan Tony Award 2005 untuk kategori Best Leading Actress in a Play.

She mulai berkencan dengan aktris Sarah Paulson pada 2004.
