Ben Kiernan
Benedict F. "Ben" Kiernan (kelahiran 1953 di Melbourne) adalah Profesor Sejarah Whitney Griswold, Profesor Kajian Lapangan dan Mancanegara dan Kepala Program Kajian Genosida di Universitas Yale.
Biografi
suntingPada awal usia dua puluh tahunan, Kiernan mengunjungi Kamboja namun hengkang sebelum Khmer Merah mengusir seluruh warga asing pada 1975. Meskipun ia tampaknya meragukan skala genosida pada zaman Kamboja Demokrat, ia mengubah pikirannya pada 1978[1][2][3] setelah permulaan serangkaian wawancara dengan ratusan pengungsi asal Kamboja. Ia mempelajari bahasa Khmer, melakukan riset di Kamboja dan para pengungsi di luar negeri, dan menulis beberapa buku tentang topik tersebut.
